Game Working - Normal Launch Through Steam.

I understand a lot of people have been struggling getting the game to launch over the past few weeks/months/years.

I have no fix, but potentially good news for some..
I have literally just downloaded and launched WotS4 via the steam launcher with no edits, downloads, fixes etc. ( Feb 20th, 2024 )
The only reason I am posting this is to (hopefully) provide a positive update for anyone who is still wanting to play the game or give it another chance.

It works on my very outdated office laptop, but it doesn't on my high end computer at home, I don't think it's the spec problem, I think it's WIndows

1- My office laptop is Win10, my home computer is Win11
2- On my home Computer, when I change the compatibility to Win98 or Win95, the game will launch but will crash at the Main menu

Also I've tried all the solutions people mentioned but still it won't work on my computer

I’m running windows 11 on my msi gaming laptop and it works fine for me, I’ve even managed to get a good few hrs in with only 1 crash over 3 days so far.

Again I have not done anything extra other than install the game and click play via steam 🤷🏼‍♂️

It runs well on Steam Deck. Launch the game and it will give a glitched screen, then GhostLight screen, another glitched screen, and then it will get to the main menu. Do not touch any buttons until it reaches the main menu or it will crash.

Have you tried to disable the Steam overlay?
Right click the game and properties, then disable the overlay.
My game would launch but crash if I went to options and changed to fullscreen, whenever overlay was on.

I got it to work (and in 4k) by going to the .exe file>properties>compatibility>Change High DPI and tick both options. This worked on Win 11.
