Before I kill myself doing this... Do charms stack?
I have 10 copies of a sword, and I'm about to go through the nightmare that is taking them apart, and getting charms. I want a sword with 3 life and deaths. So my only question is (and I'm quite sure someone will answer me before I finish this) Do charms stack?

they do but be aware that if you use that sword in a dual wield stance the maximum limit is 3 of the same charm total (so you can have one sword with 3 life and death and another with 3 Bigshot)

Yes, you can have 3 Life & Death charms on a weapon if that's what you mean by charms stacking.

Thank you both. Yeah I already have other swords for duel. each has a life n death and a fortune.. So since they stack I'll be at this for awhile. I might just try for 2 instead of 3, cause.. Jeez.
Easiest way I've found to get 3 Life and Death charms on a sword is just keep going to the buy menu then the root menu then the but menu and so on. Above all else, you need a guard that has at least one Life and Death charm in the middle. It should have another one on either side, but the one in the middle IS requried.

Didn't know you could buy hardmode boss drops :P I want a specific blade, not just store bought. Besides checking the buy menu is much slower then taking weapons apart.

You simply gather your weapons, save your game, take them apart. You check to see if it rolled what you wanted. if not then load your game again.

I didn't find it much more effort to get 3 charms instead of 2, and it really makes a noticeable worthwhile difference with Life & Death. I didn't go for a specific blade/guard/grip though.

Actually when dual-wielding, charms only apply if both swords have the same charm. If you want triple Life&Death with triple Big Shot, you need one sword with 2x L&D and 1xBS and the other sword with 2xBS and 1xL&D.

I rmember re-rolling to get 3 rows of three with the sharkfin slicer the first time i played, took so long. This time unless someone mods it I'm settling for 2 rows of bigshot on any weapon and calling it a night :)

This is really the best set up you can get in the game, makes harakiri very do-oable.

There's a chu-dan Forward+X move where you thrust with the hilt of the sword, it counts as a guard-break and does 90 dmg normally - 400 dmg on my sword, im killing guys on hard in 1-2 quick hits, feels like easy. Other moves in the stance hit for regular damage, but the increase to unstoppables/guard break moves is VERY noticable, esp in spring harvest

You could simply assemble and disassemble over and over, each time you disassemble them they have new charms.

Yep took awhile but i run a 3 big shot 3 fortune and 3 life and death. harikari is easy mode

btw to get three isnt that bad you can have 2 charmed in each part and achive three... X 0 X top X X 0 or 0 X X mid, X 0 X bottom, or you can do the harder rought with X X X top or X X X bottom

Having them reforged takes way to much time. So just save your game, take apart, see if you have what you want, and if not you just reload the game. That's what I have been saying.

Have 3 junk weapons on you.
Have 10 weapons made from the parts you want to make your sword(s) from in your backpack, with a few "junk" parts to fill in the blanks.
Disassemble all the weapons in your backpack.
If any parts have the charms you want/need, put them aside. If not, reassemble.
Replace any charmed parts you like with the junk parts and continue. Once you have a blade, guard and grip with the right charms, extract one of your junk swords from your equipped slot and assemble the good sword to fill its place. If you need another, continue.

why waste your time reassmbling? for 10 weapons that can take 3-4 minutes. Why not save your game before you disassemble, then if you don't get what you want, reload. Reload only takes like 10 seconds.
