Toughness Stances...
I have found a stance that gives 75% damage reduction "toughness" when unlocked. However, this stance is not one that I like and so it is terribly tedious to use it over other stances that are easier for me to play with. I've checked on a few other forums from 1-3 years ago and though they are mentioned, no one seems to give any specific names. These stances can be identified because early in their move set they have unlocks that require you to take 200-360 damage in a single hit.

Can you help me compile a list of sword/unarmed/spear styles that include the highest toughness skills?

P.S. My favorite style so far is the original "Mushin" style. I don't remember which stance it is in, but any style that uses that stance and has toughness 75% would be most helpful to me personally. Though I would still love a thorough list so we can share this info with the community!

Question : Why not just make your own style with that skill and otherwise customized to your preferences ?

I'm not terribly far into the game, how do you make a style?

You need to own the Dojo and you need a blank style book. Then talk to the old guy in the Dojo and you can create your own style by mixing and matching from other styles.

Sweet, I had the Dojo, but finished the playthrough before I experimented with it. I'll be sure to do this, thanks! :)

The downside to making your own style early is that you'll spend less time levelling up other styles and learning new moves to add to it. The best thing to do is to move from style to style, levelling them up. Try to stick to styles dropped by important NPCs (e.g. Dojima, Kogure, Kotobuki, etc). For the more generic styles dropped by random NPCs, you could just buy scrolls from the casino to level them up quickly, or grind them out with the Yakuza-killing missions.

The bite or the headsawing?

Cause my favourite is Dojima's neck attack.

The bite. That`s so sick and awesome at the same time.

It seems to do rather crap damage though?

That`s really not the point. You can grab a guy and chomp down on his neck. Why wouldn`t you want that to be part of your style ?

Ah, no I get that.

It's like the Chu-Dan ->Light -> Heavy attack.

It does ♥♥♥♥ damage, but you totally impale a guy and lift him over your head.

To get back to the OP's post: Tenshin (I think, whatever Dojima's style is called), Flannel (Moro's sword style), and Kasshin Iai (The Prajna dude with the scarf whose name I forget) all have it for swords, and Yubari martial arts (Moro's unarmed style) has it. There are certainly more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
