Changing your character in the Open World

So I can't seem to figure this out. Cecil died and Rosa became my main character during exploration. I can't figure out to change back? Or to a different character at all. Am I just missing something incredibly easy... I'm lost.

I haven't had the chance to play this one yet, but I have the experience from the SNES and GBA versions and you can change the overworld character visual with the shoulder buttons(ie. R1 & R2). My guess is that theres a button like page down or page up (or both). Try those and if nothing happens... then I don't know what the fudge is going on. I don't think the original and gba remake had a mechanic that changed the visible character in case of death, but I remember the steam version of Final Fantasy 3 had that mechanic... which actually reminds me that there is another workaround. It might mess up the back/front row arrangement but you can always just move Cecil where Rosa is. That might change the visual. I hope this is helpful =)

It's just one of the buttons. You have to press it when the menu is closed and you're just standing there. I think the keyboard button is C.
