I would love FFVI on Steam. Unfortunately, they'd probably port the iOS version with those butt-ugly sprites. Then charge $20.

Final Fantasy VI has been ported to Android and iOS, so I imagine it's very possible. However, outside of some updated graphics, it never received the glamorous 3D update that FFIII and IV did and is still in 2D.

So yes, there is something to port, and I'm sure a lot of people will be happy, but we may never see it because of the 3D crowd that hates anything that doesn't look like FFXIII.

I think it would be better to just enhance the 2D graphics instead of remake the game in 3D. Perhaps this is not possible for them, but a 2D HD version would be much preferred by myself.

True, but considering everybody screaming that these games should have been remade to look like FFXIII, I can just imagine if the hate that will go on if they're released here in 2D. Still, the update making it 2D HD looked pretty impressive. Maybe 2D wouldn't get so much hate if more and more games were updated like that to HD.

Oh heck no. FF6 needs chaos rings type treatment. A game born on mobile phones with waaay better graphics.

VI will come. Definitely. Hopefully IX does, too.

I want them all. These are the games that define RPG to me.

Except for the travesty that is XIII. I guess they were appealing to the teenage girl crowd, or something.

IX is not going to be released due to there not being a port of one on another platform ever. VI might be released but don't expect it to look anything like III or IV. Since there was no DS port of it the only thing you'll get is the ports of the SNES version.

It was on iOS, so odds are that's the version we'd get, unfortuneately.
