Now, they did add the Treasure Hunter augment in this version, and made Sirens buyable, which does help speed the process, but it still takes hours of work. That won't stop me from doing it, but it is tedious.
Oh, and to the OP, I've played the same versions you have, and started at roughly the same time, and the only time I think I've found any of those items is when I've specifically gone looking for them. Keep at it and they'll drop eventually.
You're going to get very lucky or VERY screwed.
I remember playing back on the SNES version and a friend showing me a Goblin summon in his list. I was surprised and wondered if I missed something. And then he used it in battle, it sucked so hard a golf ball somewhere in the world went through a garden hose, and I stopped caring. In the DS version I got a bomb summon, but they are all pretty worthless so I wont bother.
I get TWO of something that I only marginally cared about, and NONE of what I really want for completion and quests (I also need Rainbow Pudding)
I HATE random chance!
I KNOW what monsters everything is supposed to come from, I'm just making gripes about the horible drop rates of certain items.
As well as my incredibly horible luck.
