Also the chances for that low drop rate are super low as well.
The drop rates for this game are beyond ridiculous unfortunately.
Makes the craziest MMO poop in its pants :p
And yes you are fighting the right enemy, might be better to do this when you have treasure hunter at the end of the game (By completing all dungeon maps) and you have a bunch of Sirens, then you can go either where ur at or go to Lunar level for example.
You managed to avoid spending 50-200 hours on that lol
Lunar Level - Specific room on Level 5 spawns Flan Princess (Pink Jellies) which have the highest drop rate for rainbow pudding along with the chance to obtain a pink tail which you trade to make Adamant Armor. Farming for two things at once instead of one at a time! :)
Sirens - Use them in the room on Level 5 and it always draws a mob of Flan Princesses without fail. Guarantee battle; buy from Hummingway Adobe or farm them via mobs on Lunar.
Treasure Augment - Raises the drop rate; obtained by completing all maps 100%. If you missed a map, then you can't get this.
Counter Augment - Automatically counters attacks with the first ability on the ability list. Obtained from Yang's wife before boarding the ship to the Baron.
Draw Attack Augment - Character becomes the target of all enemy attacks, basically taunt. Obtained from King Giott in the Dwarven Castle after defeating Golbez.
* Stardust - Casts Comet; buy from Tomra in the item shop or farm them from Lunar monsters.
This is how I did it in my playthrough in the Lunar Level 5. I had 99 Stardust and 99 Sirens.
1. Equip Cecil with Counter and Draw Attack Augment. Someone else had the Treasure Augment, I don't remember which.
- Cecil at this point should be your tank, which is why he has Counter and Draw Attack.
2. Switched his auto-attack to auto-item: Stardust. Same with replacing his regular attack.
3. Quick Save here.
4. Siren for a mob of Flan Princess. Rinse and repeat this step.
5. Remember to heal Cecil when his health enters the yellow zone or else all hell will break loose.
6. If you don't get a pink tail or rainbow pudding by the time all your Stardust disappears, just close your game and launch it again to repeat the farming.
Every time a Flan Princess attacks Cecil, he should counter with Stardust and after 2-4 attacks, the mob should die.
*Stardust is optional but it makes farming for rainbow pudding and pink tail a lot smoother. Flan Princesses start the battle by casting Samba de Flan which is Berserk so you have no control over your characters. They almost always attack first and with Cecil having counter and draw attack, you'll be able to kill them easily with Comet.
Im definetly gonna try this, thx m8 !
You're very welcome! :)
It does take you to the main screen but since you can't actually save in the dungeon, quick save is the next thing. It's there incase you don't get anything of value when you do the farming because it's possible that you can use all your stardust and not get a single rainbow pudding and/or pink tail. So in the instance that this does happen, you can close your game and relaunch it with all your saved settings and location instead having to go back to Tomra, buy more Stardust (or back to the Hummingway Adobe to buy Sirens), walk all the way back to Level 5 and the cave, and redo your settings.
Compared to using Cecil as your Comet spammer, Rydia with the Stardust Rod is much slower but that option is still there if you don't want to spend gil on Stardust and Sirens.
Plus, Cecil is the only one in the game (I believe) that you can make immune to Berserk, with the Crystal Mail, which is essential for this strat. Also, if I recall correctly, Comet's damage is based on his INT stat, so if you level him up with INT boosting Augments (applicable levels 70+ only), you can reduce the number of Stardusts you have to use, and speed up farming (only really worth it if you are trying for multiple Pink Tails).
What does that mean ?

Congrats! :)
I totally forgot about the Crystal Mail. xD I think Crystal Mail is the only item that prevents Beserk, I know Ribbon doesn't.
Up to level 70, character stat gains are preset. That is, every unequipped level 70 Cecil will have the same STR, INT, STA, etc., although HP and MP might vary somewhat.
From levels 71-99, however, the stats that are gained depend on the Augments you have equipped when you level up. You can use this to customize your stat gains, or, if planned very carefully, can even max out characters stats. On my first playthrough, for example, as I was leveling up, I gave Cecil the Twincast Augment. This one boosts his MP and INT on level up. By focusing somewhat on INT growth, you can increase the power of the Stardust item when Cecil uses it, speeding up farming for Pink Tails somewhat.
You can find more details in any Stat Maxing guides out there, though it is generally recommended you don't try to get max stats until your final playthrough.
0.4% isn't even that low. It's 1/250 or so? There are stuff I remember trying to get in early WoW days that had a 1/10000 chanse to drop, or 0.001%
