Cockatrice summon drop rate is DISGUSTING
Even with the Treasure Hunter augment I probably have enough Gold Needles to melt down and make myself a palace of pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gold by now. How did they put this in and think "Yeah this is fun."

ikr, completely ridiculous.
Are you telling me the developers have these items in their inventory while playing the game at some point ?
Nope they just thought "Good luck buddy, you're gonna need it"

I'm expecting a similar hell for the onion / adamant items. because the 4th items drop rate is a consistent 0.4% for all monsters I think. 0.8% with Treasure Hunter active. But still, a less than 1% chance every single battle basically means the drop rate is "never" :steamsalty:

Yep, this is probably the most hardcore drop rate game ever.
I remember trying this for many hours on my DS once, they didnt change it one bit on this one either.
Dont remember getting any of those items, rainbow pudding, summons whatever

I got the Rainbow pudding through sheer luck wheni I was just playing normally, and I got the Goblin summon after grinding for 60-ish battles so I was extremely lucky there. I got 2 of the onion items through the siren grinding because at least then you can encounter them reliably

One of the most annoying things about the cockatrice summon grinding is that the majority of the time the random encounter isn't an enemy that even drops it, so it's just 100% wasted time. And there's no place where Siren calls them. Ugh, frustration.

Considering you've only played 42 hours, that is amazing.
Good luck on the Cockatrice, i agree it doesnt get more tedious than that :D

The Bomb summon is the bane of my existence in FF4 right now. I had an easier time with the Mindflayer summon/rainbow pudding drop FFS!

I haven't even touched Tails farming ;_;

Hang in there, lets all live in the purgatory of tedium and BS drop rates together.
I agree. ♥♥♥♥ u SE. This ain't a mmorpg. Nothing justifies 0.4% drop rates in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ single player game.

I finally got the pink tail today so I can relate to the torture of fighting the same thing over and over. I wonder if the summons will be just as painful to get as the tails were.

I'd say it's easier, as a lot of the mobs needed can be killed in one turn, but the tedium level is higher, because the tails can be Sirened reliably. the Cockatrice and Bomb summons can't.

So imagine fighting the same random mobs over and over, but maybe 1/4 or maybe 1/3 of the encounters are the ones you actually need to kill for the summon. The summons are the same 0.4% drop rate. 0.8% if you have treasure hunter active.

I actually prefer farming for tails because at least you can consistently fight what you need to. Summon farming becomes infuriating because so many encounters become a sheer waste of time, and it nearly takes the same amount of time to run away as it does to kill the trash. Ugh.

I got 2 Onion Shields, 1 Adamant armor, tons of rainbow puddings, 1 onion gloves, armor and sword. But dude, Bomb seems just impossible, i am killing ballons in the moon for days and guess what?
