Zeromus is vulnerable to Cry.
That's right, the embodiment of all hatred in the FFIV world can have its defense lowered substantially by using Porom's legacy Augment to weep like a baby in front of it.
Enjoy the rest of your days.
So far as Rosa goes, when I found out that you can skip a character without taking an action that becomes a winning action for Rosa. This means everyone else can keep doing stuff while Rosa keeps waiting for an action. Just keep her standing by and ready to cast a healing spell immediately after the party gets hit. This allows her to heal more quickly in response than anything else, which prevents the party from wiping. Everything else in this fight is secondary.
Last time I played the SNES version I ran from every battle that I could and did a fast low-level run. I made it all they way to Zeromus but found I couldn't beat him after avoiding all experience outside of boss fights.
