harps are long range or melee?

Keep Edward in the back row & just use bardsong. He's really squishy so he'll only be singing in battles.
Harps potency isn't affected by rows, I'm not sure what category they fit into.

i believe it's special catagory, and btw, he can get the highest stats after lvl 70.

True but its unlikely he'll hit 70 before he leaves the group, unless you really grind his levels.Before that he's just a spoony bard.

I don't think he rejoins the group after that part in this version, I remember he recovers then prays along with the others before they fight Zeromus.

Not sure if which version has him rejoin,I've only played the DS/Phone versions.

Didn't know that, Edward has his uses but overall I don't think he's that great being so frail like most bards in the FF series.

Harps hit equally from the front and back rows, so it counts as a "ranged" weapon.

Edward's harps act like magic, therefore it hardly matters where he's placed. I'd recommend the back row since he can break like glass if you're not careful.

Acually, if your using the DS, iOS, Android, or Steam versionyou cannot replace permanent party members with the temporary ones save for Tellah, for he is dead, and Fusoya, since he left to take down Zemus with Golbez.

Oh, well that's gonna suck. I did it on the psp vita version, aka snes version. Ds version looks to be like a challange mode of sorts.
