I don't understand the Window Watcher puzzle
So, this might be really a naive question, but I got this puzzle wrong and I was surprised when I discovered the correct solution. Obviously spoilers below.

Why doesn't this work when the right red dot is shifted one position up? The line still cuts all the four bars, what's wrong?

Oh, I see! I was assuming that chains were discounted, because they would fall as the result of cutting the logs.
