Yes! The game lets you choose between 5, 10, 20 continues or freeplay.

Does Metal Slug X have online lobbies?
Yes! The game does have online lobbies.

How many players can play at once?
The game supports 2 player local or online co-op.

Which aspect ratios are supported?
The original game is 4:3, but the Steam version supports 16:9 scaling.

Will I be able to run this on Windows XP? I can run many new games on my PC.
No. The game doesn't support Windows XP regardless of your hardware. Vista or newer version of Windows is required to play.

COMMON PROBLEMS

My game doesn't start and I get an error about MSVCP110.dll or MSVCR110.dll
MSVCR110.dll is the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable dll that is needed for many games and programs to run. 64-bit machines can sometimes be missing the x86 version of the DLL, which is needed for Metal Slug X to work.

Steam is supposed to install the files automatically when you run Metal Slug X for the first time, but if you run into this problem, you will need to install the files manually:

1. Right-click Metal Slug X in your Steam library and select properties.
   
2. Go to the LOCAL FILES tab and select BROWSE LOCAL FILES...
   
3. Navigate to /Metal Slug X/_Common Redist/vcredist/ and run the executables inside both folders.

My achievements aren't unlocking even though I completed the requirements!
Something went wrong and Steam didn't register your achievement. Now the game will no longer try to unlock the achievement as it thinks you already have it. Easiest way to solve this is to delete your save data.

WARNING: You will lose all your progress and settings will be defaulted.

1. The save file is located in /appdata/local/mslugx/. Easiest way to get there is to write "%appdata%" without quotes into your file browser's address bar.
   
2. Simply delete the mslugx folder and your achievements should work now.
   
3. If the problem persists you might also need to delete your save file from Steam folder.
   
4. Delete this folder: Steam\userdata\XXXXX\250180\remote. XXXXX is your unique Steam ID number.

My game freezes when I click something in the menu.
This problem usually occurs on Windows 8 and 8.1 when using Realtek Audio drivers. You can fix this by either switching to Windows HD Audio driver or lowering your samplerate. 24-bit 48000Hz works for example.

My taskbar doesn't disappear even though the game is full-screen.
You may need to move your taskbar to the bottom of the screen, if you have it on sides or the top of the screen.

One minor bug that gets to me is the fact that certain keys cannot be assigned. I want to set the Grenade key with the / key but it won't recognize it. These key binds work in MS3 but not in MSX.

Emmmmm, question here! I want to play in the original difficulty, does very hard is the same as MVS difficulty in Metal Slug 3? I have play Metal Slug since i was 5 years old and, i love the original difficulty. Thank you very much!

Nope, MVS difficulty is "Level - 4" on the Arcade, since there's no option for MVS difficulty, here are the difficulty level numbers based on what the console in other ports, Easy is Lv. - 1, Normal is Lv. - 3. Hard is Lv. - 6, and I guess Very Hard is Lv. - 8

Did a search for resolution, no hits.

When trying to go full screen, the image shifts down and right showing me only the top left corner.

It also won't let me change my resolution. I've tried everything up to 3840x2160. Each and every setting responds the exact same way.

When left in windowed mode, the image explodes to several times larger than my screen. I can shift the window around and get it back to defaullt. Anything higher is massive.

I've also messed with all the catalyst scaling options. no luck. :( and Google results have not been friendly at all.

Anyone know how to resolve this. I wanna play!
