Which Metal Slug is worth buying?

So seeing the discounts i was actually wondering which game of metal slug is it worth buying? I believe everyone has different bosses and scenarios so it might be good to buy them all right? Or what do you suggest?

If you have X there is not much reason to get 2 , they're mostly the same game with X mostly just being a revised version of 2.

I think the rest are worth a shot.

Oh It's the same game just better? Good to know. What about the others?

And i read the port it's kinda bad, any truth on that?

3 is also fine and feature altenate routes which give a reason to play it more then once.

My favorites are X and 3.
X is shorter than 3 but still awesome!
3 is EPIC and IMO it's the Metal Slug masterpiece but it can be way to longer and I don't always feel like playing it solely because of that.
But both are arcade games to beat in one seating.
The first one is meh, the second is a worst X and XX was originally named 7 and released on the NDS then got the PSP, XBL and Steam ports.
It's okayish IMO.

Thanks for answering! I might buy everyone except 2 then if it's just a worse X and the others to have the different settings :)
