I mean you can finish Link's Awakening without knowing that the bomb arrow glitch exists (well, glitch or exploit it has never been clear if it was a planned mechanic or a trick that got unseen by the devs), you can finish Ocarina of Time without using the bomb shield trick that speedrunners used.
Same with this Ys, you can do the entire game without even knowing how to Dash jump, in fact it's only mandatory for one room guarded by an optional boss with an item, nothing more.
Yes it was a poorly implemented mechanic (thankfull Oath fixed that with Double Jumping and dashing) but it's still not necessary to learn it.

Isn't this a bit of exagerration? I mean sure you miss one or two items but saying it ruins the entire game is a bit far-fetched.
They're not mandatory to finish the game.
But if you're not then what's the issue? Also the tabulae aren't that much revealing about the secrets (and you could at worst check the texts online).
