Controls remap after connecting fifth controller

Hi there!

I would like to play Duck Game with five people with the default Xbox controls (X to pickup, RT to use). This works when up to four controllers are connected. However, as soon as I connect a fifth controller, all controls of all players/profiles remap, so that Y becomes pickup and X becomes use. I doesn't matter how many players are actually in the lobby or whether the 8 player screen is visible; even with only one player "activated", that player's controls will suddenly change once a fifth controller gets connected. It also doesn't matter in which order I add the controllers. The controls in the settings menu don't change, only all profile-specific controls. I am not able to remap the profile-specific controls back to the default; the RT button refuses to be mapped.

I am using two Xbox One controllers and three Xbox Series X controllers, all wireless, but all connected to the same adapter. I'm not sure if that causes issues with the drivers or whether it's a bug in the game.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Still love the game to death. :)

Was there ever any resolution to this? I'm having the same issue currently. It is particularly inconvenient.

Nope, still have the same issue. Highly frustrating indeed. I am not even using old Xbox 360 controllers anymore; now it's a mix of Series X and One controllers, so it may still have something to do with the fact that not all controllers are exactly the same type? Do you perhaps have all your controllers be the exact same model?
