What are shenanigans?

There's an option in the settings to turn shenanigans off and on but doesn't seem to do anything... I read some old forum posts saying it is pointless but could be used in the future, so I just wanted to check if it serves any purpose now.

The Shenanigans option is whether or not you hear the bleeps when a duck curses, which happens sometimes when they quack.

So, if I turn it off then I don't hear the bleeps? Do they still make some form of noise or does nothing happen?

Yes, you won't hear the bleeps, you'll only hear quacks.

I tried turning it off and hit someone with a dart gun amd it still bleeped
