NEW!! Duck Game Update Request Thread
Hey everyone! I'd like to apologize for being so out of touch, I think it's probably been at least 6 months since I've posted anything here. I've been working a ton on the Duck Game update, and a bit on some new games that I'll probably announce before too long.

I'm posting this to officially say that the update *is* coming, and it's getting close to the point where I'll be opening it for beta testing. The reason it's been taking so long is my publisher wants to time the update to come out at the same time as the PS4 version, and the PS4 version has been taking foreverrrr. Unfortunately I agreed to let a porting company deal with the port, and though they're doing a great job they've taken quite a bit longer than I would have liked. It's almost done, the hope is that release will be late next month but I still can't announce an official date. In the meantime, though, I have some time where I could add some additional stuff to the Duck Game update, and I thought it would be good to ask you guys what sort of stuff you want.

New things can be features, or they can be issues that still haven't been dealt with which may have fallen off my radar. A short overview of a few issues I've already dealt with:

-Host lobbies will automatically be closed after being idle for a few minutes, which should prevent tons of dead lobbies piling up.
-Workshop mods can now have preview images.
-Hat creation will now be an official feature.
-Sledge hammer has been fixed to prevent disarming the player who's using it.
-Chainsaw has been fixed to prevent user from killing themselves with it so easily (for example, you could slide kill someone before and their body might disarm you, then your own chainsaw would kill you. This doesn't happen anymore.)
-Death Crates and Wires have been synchronized online.
-Random level generation has been completely rewritten and is unrecognizable compared to the old system.
-Lighting system has been improved so it doesn't look so bad, especially at level borders.

Those are just the things I can think of right now, so much has changed with the update that I'm going to have to scour through the code to get some real notes together. There are also a ton of major features being added but sadly I can't talk about them until I officially announce the update D:

Thank you so much for being such a good community, for playing my game, and for keeping it alive. I seriously can't thank you all enough and I don't know what to say. I want this update to really bring the game to the final vision I had in my head of what Duck Game is supposed to be, and I hope this update can help partially make up for my lack of communication over the last year. :frogzone:

Seems simple enough for such an online converter to hide some bad code in the file it gives you.
Especially if you have an outdated mediaplayer, even mp3 files with bad code attached can install malware sice some very commonly used players were suczeptible in the past.

Of course, downloading and installing an acutual converter software (an executable) would be even riskier.

afaik superjoebob's website has all the music on it, if they come alongside of download links I am unsure of.

The OST is planned to come as a DLC, with better quality than on Landon's site or via the game files. I'll check up on him about this when I have the chance!

In my opinion, that would kind of ruin one of the big things about instruments, that they AREN'T functional. They're something for fun, to lighten up the mood of the match and cause more hilarity in the grand scheme that is Duck Game.

Agreed. There are a lot of "props" and objects that at first glance don't seem functional, but ultimately are useful. Instruments are heavy and great for disarming. One of the more satisfying plays is getting a sax from a ? block the same time your counterpart gets a gun, then disarming him and killing him with his gun.

Instruments would be a lot more fun if you could actually properly use them on keyboard..

Download Audacity and convert them in there. Audacity is free and virus free so you'll be fine.

Alright, got another melee weapon idea:

PICKAXE
Lets take the sledge hammer as a base for that weapon:
- Slow but powerful strikes
- Same weight (Hard to throw, but can crash ducks when it lands on their heads, also similiar movement while wielding it)
- Swinging it throws you forward

What would make the pickaxe different?
- Since its a pickaxe, it should destroy blocks it strikes:
- When standing next to a wall, destroy the blocks it hits
- When crouching, destroy the blocks below
- Instead of the hammer's swing trajectory ( from below the duck to the front), make the pickaxe swing from top to forward-down
- With the swing in mind, the duck won't have the pseudo flight capablity, but rather a smash attack, which would make the duck fall faster

Why do I think we could use a weapon like this in the duck weaponry? Because the only weapon currently able to destroy the blocks is bazooka, and we dont have too many melee weaps.
Remember to online that weapon block(that activates with wires and shoot).And make a wires invisible.And create the full guide/FAQ for creator.Just can't understand what means some settings.
New weapon-wearing idea!
SHIELD!
This one will have a different physical settings.
-When it in the hands - it's hard like a sledgehammer.
-When you throw it while standing still - it will get down as pistol.
-When you throw it while running - it will fly like a plate and slowly get down.If it will meet the
wall - it will stuck in it.
-When the duck is standing still - the shield will cover the hitbox of the duck in front of it from the floor to the top of the head.
-When the duck is crouching - The shield is covering face and the top of head,but not the legs&chestplate.
-Duck can jump with shield,but VERY-VERY low.like 2 blocks.
-Duck can't fly with it.
-If shield will meet the duck till flying - the duck will die.
-Duck can stand on the shield and fly on it.
-Duck will not die if shield will fall on the had of it.
-If the explosion will be on the shield - duck will give a d(f)uck.
-If duck with shield will croch with a shield,and a massive prop(box) will fall on it - it will just bounce.
There are 2 possible types of them:
Circle shield
rectangle shield.

Only Circle one is flying.
If a duck with a book will attack - it will momentally join this duck team.

I'd like to see some new things in the game:
-Teamfire On/off
-saved items will not have full magazine.It will be like an original.
-You can join with mods.
-John Mallard online(Just like MANY things that aren't)
-Coop maps.(When you have to help your broduck to climb etc.)
-Online profiles.(Cause it's hard to get some achievments.)
-New trailer of duck game?
-New official hats.
-You can report some hats so they will be checked and will be approved/denied for online using.
-Official tournaments without money prize.
-You can watch other duck play.
-You can join the game you want to join(Like in source community servers.)
-Matchmaking,ranks etc.
-Some hats will be changed for another duck colours.(Like the hat:Ducks.It has got a white lane on the bottom of it.I think it should be 4 types or something.)
-More arcade challenges!(Cause in the end - you understand that this is to easy.)

I would like an option to switch custom maps between online & offline (maybe autodetect when you save), because i sometimes start building a map in online mode, but want it to be offline in the end (and the other way around), but you can't change that anywhere as far as i know.

You can always start building in offline map mode, and end up making it online legal, so you don't really have to worry about that. 1st map I made was done in offline mode, but wired guns didnt work online, so I just had to replace them after testing the map in action.

TLDR just build in offline if you are indecisive

This has probably been requested a million times, but please create a better matchmaking system. I've been loving this game to death but I can not stand it when other players or the host leaves and the game just ends. It's how most of my games end and it's annoying.

All vanilla maps need to named and easily identified. Its way too frustrating to have to describe every weapon on a map to remind another player what im talking about. Some Vanilla Maps have character to them, like the door dueling pistol map in space. Or the snipers post above the locked jetpack waterfall.' Snipers post would easily be identifiable compared to some of the other sniper maps like the nadelauncher, mine,jetpack house between symmetrical office sniper windows and shotgun floors. Or maybe just call that map "shotty sniper vs jetpack magnum"

Heres a few more titles you might recognize the map;" i locked my magnum in the bathroom", flintlock flight, 4 ducks 3 lanes 2 swords 1 winner, SPACE jetpack minigun and INDUSTRIAL jetpack minigun, HAMMER VS specials and HAMMER VS pistols & nades, Flaming nets in space, directional diagonals, The Combat Shotgun Map , Dont play with fire unless its a toy, race to racecar, The locked present room, LOS- shotgun vs pistol. LOS- armoured AK, Risk or Race (to netgun), Jetpack: choose your weapon. Grapple shotgun.
