Local keyboard + controller not working(help)
Okay, so I have my keyboard and controller connected to my pc properly. But when I use the keyboard or controller after connecting one of them, instead of starting a new room/player, both control the same duck. When I look it up online, people say to go to options on the top left but it isn't there, and honestly, I'm very confused about what they mean. Every other discussion and problem that was answered was on a previous version of the game and they keep moving it around. How do I play with one or two friends with one on the keyboard and the rest on connected controller(s)? Also on another note when it does add a new player in the lobby it usually joins two instead and then the controller control TWO players/ducks and each time I leave or restart the game they are there or there are MORE. It is actually ridiculous that I can't properly play because of technical problems. I paid for this so I can play with my friends and I can't do that. It seemed to work for other people 5 or two years ago but they keep changing it and causing problems.

The options at the top left are on the main screen before you go to the rooms. You just move to the left while in the beam after you press Esc for the first time. From there you can go to controls and manually set the player number of each controller. You could also try connecting controllers after the game has started and you're in the rooms as that usually set every new input device connected as a new player. I've never had problems like this so I don't know what else could be the problem so I hope this helps.

Sorry about the trouble, I know the controller stuff in DG isn't the best and it can be frustrating :( I've fixed a number of controller issues in the next update that should be coming out in the next few days. It will also have the 'Edit Controls' menu in the normal start menu so it's not as hard to find.

An option being in the 'top left' is pretty messed up, it's not a very good way to find something.. To get to the EDIT CONTROLS screen, you need to move left out of the beam on the title screen and bounce up to the top left platform with the wrench on it. In that beam you should be able to open a menu that has EDIT CONTROLS as one of the options. Then you need to move left and right in that menu to select Keyboard P1, there you can change "PLAYER#" to something other than '1'. Alternatively, there are default controls in place for P2 and they can join on keyboard by pressing the '+=' key to the left of backspace.

With the gamepad controlling two ducks, what sort of game pad are you using? I know there's an issue like this with PS4 controllers on some computers due to DS4Windows, they tend to install their own DirectInput driver in addition to the XInput installs and it causes the computer to see 2 gamepads for each controller instead of one. If you're using DS4Windows DG might work fine if you disable it while playing-

If you're not using it then there might be something with your configuration that I didn't account for. Would you be comfortable sending me your save data so I can take a look? There's a way to do it from in game, you just open the command console with '~' and type

sendsave

and press enter. Then type a message ('gamepad not working' or something like that would be good!) and press enter again to send the save data.

Sorry again for the issues, the update will be out within the next few days and hopefully that will fix the problem. Sending me your save data regardless would be really appreciated though, as if your problem is caused by something else I might be able to get it fixed and get that fix into the update before it's pushed.

I was just about to play local with an xbox controller and my keyboard but when we were at the lobby the xbox controller was controlling both players actions, didnt matter if i connected the controller at a different port or if i set the m&k player to player 2
It all could be easier if there was a player # picker that separated peripherals
I still absolutely love your game
