STORROR Parkour Pro

STORROR Parkour Pro

Tester Review/Remarks
PROS:

-A lot of development has gone into this since the previous Storror project! A lot cleaner, nice additions, for example the player damage tracker when you take a spill. It feels a lot more optimized, good menu options and graphics to adjust along with camera preferences.

-I like how the direction of the cork depends on which foot you're taking off of, sweet little detail.

-I like the on-screen keyboard and mouse to help see how our inputs are taken by the game.

-I know i said this already but, I like the camera movement option for a more lively feel and how the controls are skate-esque with the mouse flicks. Really nice touch and a smart way to implement a lot of moves that feel close enough to the real thing to understand the controls. Quite intuitive once you get the basics and take a look in the menu.

Cons/WIP:

-Speaking of the menu. You can click on Some things and get there all the way but not All things. Let me explain. When you try to go into the menu for controls. You can Click on which type of movements you want to see the controls of, BUT the on-screen keyboard only highlights the keys IF you use WASD to navigate though the options. THEN you use your mouse-wheel to up and down on the screen to highlight which keys to press for whatever move is highlighted.
TLDR: To get the controls.
-Open the menu
-Click on Controls
-use WASD to navigate which type of movement you want to learn
-use mouse-wheel/W,S to highlight the keys on the on-screen keyboard

-The controls feel a bit weighty, moreso the camera movement. A bit too delayed and vague. Makes it hard to be completely precise with the delay.

-Hard to get timing, some type of indicator would be nice, like a way to gauge the distances. Maybe a visual indicator that we can set for the left or right foot or something audible that can be set the same way, like a metronome or something.

-I'm not sure if it's the timing thing I just mentioned or something else but it doesn't seem like all the moves register at all at times. More specifically the movements have to do with the mouse as I'm coming up to a drop or coming out of another movement. Like a roll and come out with a cork. And sometimes a cork wont be registered at all along with vaults and flips.

-It's a bit awkward to line up just right on walls to follow up with a line of tricks that follow a straight path after climbing. My suggestion would be to use some type of auto-lock feature that readjusts the player/camera orientation in a way so that as they are running at the wall it faces them more perpendicular and straight-on to it.

Did you try on controller at all? From the sounds of it, I am pretty excited. My biggest worry has been that the controls would get less session and more tony hawk. From your review I feel pretty safe that has not happened.
I have not tried it with the controller yet so I can't say anything on that but, I can't see this going 100% the tony hawk route. I really like the way they've done the controls for mouse keyboard, minus some input errors I've mentioned, and I'm curious to see how it's implemented to game pad. Thus far my first impression is positive and I'm hopeful for what's to come with the updates
