Is there any food in Looks to the Moon?
I'm playing as Survivor and I want to use the shelter near that blue creature inside Looks to the Moon, however I can't find food anywhere and any attempt to leave this place has been thwarted by the giant sea worm(?) thing. I see those glowing flies around that blue creature, but they look important, so I haven't touched them yet. Is it safe to?

Also, considering I haven't found a way to go forward out of this place, am I going to have to backtrack? Please don't tell me I have to return to the Shaded Capital. That place was a maze to get through and I couldn't find any other way out that didn't lead to the Shoreline.

Edit: This is my first time playing this game and I've been trying to avoid guides and other spoiler-like stuff, so please be vague if necessary as to not spoil anything.

The jellyfish are edible!? I thought they killed you! Can they kill you or did I have some misunderstanding here?

They can stun you if thrown at you (or if you get under them I think, but I haven’t tested that so idk) but yes, they are edible and safe, and you can throw them at other creatures to stun them!

Thank you so much, that was exactly the amount of information I needed. I'm excited to get back into Rain World.

NP! I’m glad it helped!

There's lots of food there, it's one of the few places where you could stay for infinite cycles with all characters except for hunter and some of the DLC slugcats. The little blue-black plant fruits that act similary to rocks are edible after they get put in water for a short while, jellyfish and some bluefruit near the exit.

Eat the glowy things, they give you a buff

There is a location later that will give you the same buff without the consequences of eating them at Moon.

Alright. I've beaten the game as Survivor now and I have some questions. (I can put this in a new discussion if necessary, but it feels more convenient to do it here).
1. How do I access the DLC?
I already own it, I just don't know how to get it started.

2. Should I access the DLC?
Is there anything I should complete in the base version of the game before activating the DLC?

3. Either way, is there anything I should know about the DLC besides the existence of more slugcats?

4. I went to see Looks to the Moon after encountering Five Pebbles, but I happened to have one of those colored pearls on me and got some lore. Is this important beyond getting some backstory?

5. What happens if I continue playing as Survivor after reaching the ending? The option is there, but I wasn't sure if it was worth checking.

6. Lastly, I found this group of scavengers in the Farm Arrays that were blocking my path. They were making some weird gesture, so I dropped a spear down to see if anything would happen. They kind of threw it back at me, but it was spinning? Anyway, a vulture showed up and I managed to kill it (or at least harm it to the point where it didn't get back up), saving a Scavenger in the process. Again, they remained in my way. Again, I offered a spear (out of the vulture's corpse) and they didn't take it. The Scavenger did a different gesture and I assumed that meant I could pass. I attempted to and was immediately chased by all of them. After my death, I ended up taking an alternative route with those weird long-legged deer. So, what in the world happened here? I do not understand how the Scavengers work or why they despise me.

1. You'll need to go to remix and enable the "More Slugcats" Expansion! I can explain further if needed.

2. You can go right into the DLC if you want, since you completed Survivor a few of the Downpour slugcats will be unlocked, but not all of them, similar to Hunter. Be aware they may be tougher than Survivor!

3. Besides the new slugcats, the DLC adds new regions, creatures, pearls, and a few rooms to already existing regions, along with some being changed in later and earlier campaigns. Some of the DLC slugcat's endings will be in these new regions, or related to added things.

4. Other than lore and backstory, no, these pearls don't do much else. There is an achievement to gather three colored pearls in a single shelter, and you can collect them to learn a bit more about the world of Rain World, but thats about it.

5. I believe you simply continue the cycle from your last shelter before the ending.

6. The scavenger group is called a scavenger toll, which requires a payment for you to pass successfully. Giving the scavengers a spear was good! Usually they require four spears as payment, which is equal to one pearl. The "spinning" spear was likely just the scavenger trying to give you a spear back as payment for the one you gave it, and it just tossed the spear to you. If they're waving their hands up and down, that usually means that you still need to pay them (Though they don't always seem to use this frequently.), while waving their hand above their head means you're free to go. Alternatively, if you dont have anything to pay with, you can try and wait for the rain to come, since scavengers abandon tolls once the rain comes, and dash for the nearest shelter, if you know where it is, though depending on which way you were heading that might have been hard.

Hope this helped!

Thanks. This is what I wanted to know. I've since completed the game as Artificer (because that campaign is surprisingly short). So, that's what that group of scavengers was about. That makes a lot of sense, although I was hoping that saving one of them by killing a vulture would've given me at least some credit. I'm still trying to decide which slugcat to play as next. It's between Spearmaster, Rivulet, and Hunter (although I might regret that last one after seeing some of the new creatures I had to deal with as Artificer).

I'm just hoping I don't have to have another scavenger war at some point. (I got trapped in Chimney Canopy because I forgot that I could get to Five Pebbles by going up the Wall and had to fight a group of scavengers to the death so I could go back through the gate).

You can't befriend scavengers as Artificer at all. Even if you flood their cities with pearls they will hate you.

Yuh it's a video game, it's supposed to be fun, not a 100 percent realistic lore machine

The group of scavengers I fended off a vulture for (and was hoping to be rewarded for doing so) was during my Survivor playthrough. Believe me, after the suffering I endured in the scavenger war at Chimney Canopy, I am well aware that there is no reconciliation between the Artificer and the Scavengers. (Although, I did have to look up the dreams I didn't see as Artificer to fully understand why. I finished the playthrough before actually seeing what happened to the slugpups).

I'm also fairly certain you could have taken the mask off the vulture and given it to the scavengers as i'm sure that a vulture mask is effectively one of the higher payment methods (King vulture masks being equal to pearls). Alternatively, you can wear a vulture mask on yourself which makes creatures second guess coming after you as they fear the vultures (This isn't an easy "get out of jail" card as they will still eventually try to kill you) Though apparently green lizards will only stay still in the presence of a vulture mask instead of running away but will run away in the presence of a king vulture mask. Black lizards don't care either way because they're blind and red lizards just don't care
