(i actually don't know lol)
Three is where stuff gets really weird. I've found that there are actually only three echos you can visit. all of the other ones are blocked off with Rot. The available ones are the Chimney Canopy one, the Farm Arrays one (via outskirts), and the Shaded Citadel one. Additionally, the third one opens a whole new set of worlds wiht a 3D map organization system. like you've gotta rotate a dodecahedron to select the map you wanna look at, wild stuff. These worlds have a few entrances and exits, though it seems you can only go through an exit after discovering the world it goes to beforehand, with the exception of the one portal/exit that is already open, which I think is supposed to be the natural progression of it. It appears that you can return through the portal you came in from, so as long as you leave the room and return, the portal animation will restart. Also, there are cycles in these new worlds, but I haven't stayed around long enough to see them yet, so I'm not sure if they've been changed. Theres a frick ton of new creatures, a few new items, and some wild textures. Cool stuff, this new DLC is ALL about exploring. Probably while on acid.
I've explored 5 worlds and its wild. They are massive. Sorry let me reiterate, they are MASSIVE. Like the whole of base rain world isn't as big as some of these ones. Specifically, the coral one and the snowy wasteland took me a few hours to get through most of it, and I'm sure that I'm not even close to done. My only hope in this endeavor is that they are randomly generated. I saw a seed option in the remix file, which might imply a difference in map or creature location. The wiki article for the watcher is going to be wild.
I tried to make a portal in one of those places that had a portal that was just kinda rippling, not letting you through, and it didn't let me. It said: "A presence already binds this place." Also there's something called a Blizzard Lizzard. Phenomenal.
- glow in the dark; similar to when you eat a neuron (received after finding the echo once)
- become invisible by holding down the SPECIAL button (received after finding the echo a second time)
- create portals/warps to other frontiers (found after meeting the echo a fourth time i believe?) (HAS TO BE DONE AFTER CONSUMING A KARMA FLOWER, OTHERWISE THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES)
- summon void creatures while invisible. unsure what the void creatures do, still trying to find out. (only usable after reaching the fifth or sixth watcher karma level)
