Watcher stand alone?
I play mostly on my console but that launch maybe a bit far away, so I was thinking of getting it on pc but I dont know If I would have to buy first dlc as well? I mean the region may also be available for the other cats too I imagine? So likely you would want to have both?

You will not need to own Downpour to play and do Watcher stuff-- they're separate

Wait. . . the implications. . .
How would the Watcher and Downpour interact? Weren't lilypucks shown in one of the clips? Weren't dandelion peaches seen in that one picture of the purple sky region? Will I be able to eat gooieducks?

Pretty simple actually. If the game detects you have the content, simply spawn it in the rooms or do said map edits to connect regions. Same way Downpour interacts with the base game will be how it potentially interacts with Watcher.
Kind of like flipping an on/off switch.

Wouldn't it make it easier if you have DLC? Since you get extra food sources

Same could be said for Downpour adding food to base game regions

Vanila Filtration system = Starvation system. There is no food anywhere!
how would the watcher dlc interact with the room updates when you have both dlc enabled, opposed to one at a time?

Couldn't ask it better myself. But my second question is: will there be gooieducks? I love gooieducks, don't know why, I just like 'em.

vanilla filtration system is pretty small. and you arent expected to grind karma. there is a fair bit of pupafruit, but why would you even need food there? you're not meant to stay

It's certainly a good challenge region for having limited mobility. Food isn't entirely a problem if you pace your consumption and/or have carnivorous ability, but then you get the issue of fighting off all those lizards.
