So far, not much changed. But I haven't dug too deep since It's a new playthrough and I'm combing over every region.
My biggest problem is that Invisibility is still completely overpowered which should have been the first thing they tweaked.
Found one new region in the update, it's pretty decent, vanilla survivor difficulty I would say which is a bit odd for DLC2. Has some outskirts beta vibes to it, I dig it.

Also we finally got a new replacement for the pollywog and some dead ends are now looped to other rooms (still pretty lazy to just chop up the region so you have to stich it together like that but whatevs) But big points for the pollywog replacement, they look really cool. And it's fun to watch them hunt. (there needs to be more of them though most of coral caves is still barren.)

Arena fix is welcome, but the real meat and pudding would have been expedition support since the more sporadic region placement would have fit way better into an expedition playthrough. Maybe I just need to finish the DLC again but I saw no icon on the page?

Overall- improvements none the less. But I'm still pessimistic about how some things seem unchanged.
I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised once I'm deeper into it.
I'm trying out the beta on my already completed Watcher file.

Sunlit Alleys was a small early region, but it's MUCH bigger now.
There are new golden glowing warp portals around, not sure how to open them yet.

Found new arena unlock in Sunlit Alleys,
and Watcher as playable for Arena at a new room above far eastern edge of Outer Rim.

The end-game regions of Daemon and Outer Rim both have strange new rooms,
containing mysterious puzzles to solve.
Daemon's new room has a cryptic message that appears in the middle, changed slightly both times I went through.
A new room in central Outer Rim has a spiral symbol that gradually grows, possibly counting # of warps to that region?

Also Daemon seems to be disturbingly more 'alive' in a couple ways...
sunlit port is completely different

Oh yeah, I was wondering if it was always called 'Sunlit Alleys', but I guess not. It also has a link to Daemon now too, probably same with Fetid Glen. Those were the only two 'normal' regions that strangely lacked a ripple warp portal to there.

yea
They made Salination even more of a watery hell than it already was.. Get me outta here man
Fractured Gateways is a pretty cool region, but those whales sure love to get stuck in places they shouldn't be. In one instance, a whale blocked the only route to the uppermost part of the region where Spinning Top is located, so I had to warp to another region and back to progress. That said, the whales are otherwise not at all frustrating; I never had to wait long for one to show up.
Two bugs happened, both in Heat Ducts.
First one is that the pearl I gathered from Turbulent Pump has doubled after sleeping in a shelter.
Second one is much worse: Spinning Top DOES NOT SHOW UP in Heat Ducts. I don't think they ever had a 'ripple level' requirement or anything, but they simply aren't appearing in room WARE_H05 now, no matter what.

They are at the end of thermal relay

I already decided to uninstall the beta, so I'll just have to check this out later today when 1.5 officially releases. But are you saying they were swapped over to a different room? Because they've always been in WARE_H05 in the southwest before.

Here's an interactive map of Heat Ducts, with room names labeled:
Heat Ducts map[alduris.github.io]

The room Spinning Top usually appears in is WARE_H05, near the southwest edge. If you zoom in you can see them clearly on the screencap, plus there's the warp icon representing Stormy Coast.

The portal to Salination is what I'd usually consider 'the end of Thermal Relay' sub-region. Are they in that room now instead? And if not, where am I supposed to go?

Many of the portals and even Echo locations got changed. Shrouded Coast Stacks for instance no longer has Spinning Top anywhere, but they're still in Heat Ducts, just at the opposite end of the region.

Anyway, speaking of Heat Ducts, I'm not a fan of the orange Arena token location. Like, it's obvious that there's no way back, at least without levitation, but having to commit jump die after reaching it just doesn't feel good despite the presence of a shelter in the above room.
Couple other changes I forgot to mention.
There's a new salamander variant that has wedge-shaped skull, and it seems to maybe(?) have a chance to deflect direct rock throws instead of the usual flipping it over.
Torrid Desert has extra rooms too. That makes at least four regions that have been expanded so far (Sunlit Port/Alleys, Daemon, and Outer Rim were mentioned in earlier post).

Interesting choice to rearrange some portal and Spinning Top locations. Maybe removing Spinning Top's previous Heat Duct location was a good call, it was a bad spot with several large pits in the middle.
Maybe they were removed from Shrouded region because it already had the weird setup of having two separate portals both leading to Cold Storage (one being Top's)?
Although they're definitely still in their usual spots in the three vanilla regions, Desolate Tract, Turbulent Pump, and Torrid Desert.

I've enjoyed the spots for arena unlocks so far, but that's unfortunate there's at least one suicidal token to grab at low Ripple level. But to be fair, even base game Rain World has one like that: You need to use leeches to be dragged down quick enough to get red lizard token before drowning, in that small completely submerged room in Garbage Wastes, GW_A14. Or you could happen to have bubble weed from far away, I guess.

At least token unlocks are instantly saved and DON'T require resting at shelter.
Anyone else find the weird green spore puff-like objects in badlands? I got one from a scavenger it looks like an oval shaped spore puff with light green gas. When holding, it does NOT repel locusts but that's about all I know so far.

They actually serve the same purpose as the Spore Puffs they replaced. Only difference is they leave an obvious visual decal on the player similar to mud and Indigo spit, which compromises camouflage but also makes it easier to tell when the deterrent is in effect.
Any general guidance for where to aim for or go if im starting up again in the princes shelter? What regions?
