How the heck does "mark of communication" work?
From what I know is that fp shows a image of the slugcat's brain so does that means they are literally just shoving the info into the slugcat's brain? also since they stop making noise's after doing that meaning they tried to stop talking physically, but from a video I saw, the iterator's sound's are super sped-up and reversed possibly uncanny-english.

The sound-bites are english, but canonically the iterators are speaking in a completely different language.

But yea, that's basically what happens. They inject hundreds of years of language, grammar, and the context to understand phrases into your little mouse brain and immediately give you instructions on how to ascend beyond all that. At least Pebbles tried less... drastic measures at first with Survivor.

I have a theory that there might also be some decoding/decompression going on. It's very possible that iterators don't speak like you and I do, but rather speak much faster, and very compressed too. Which would actually make a lot of sense for iterators communicating with each other, it's way more efficient than slowly parsing out words one by one, and their computation is well fast enough to keep up with it.
The drawback though is that you need something to demodulate otherwise it's too fast, and too compressed (probably in addition to being the wrong language) to be understood by normal creature.
It's totally possible the ancients needed marks too in order to understand the iterators themselves.

i heavily doubt the citizens would have needed marks. why would you develop a creature that is incomprehensibly intelligent but not have it speak your language
also iterators dont communicate over audio from what i can tell

and yeah i think the reason pebbles tries to communicate with you in other ways is because he is aware that giving the mark of communication to local wildlife isnt a very good idea (subtle glance towards the hunter defying the ecosystem and being shunned by the spiritual realm because particular iterator bestowed it upon them and promptly sent them away without a second thought)
the fact moon casually talks to you when you have the mark makes me think that it isnt "injecting knowledge in your brain", but rather transmitting their internal language (thoughts) https://rainworld.miraheze.org/wiki/Pearl/Dialogue#GW into your brain or something. considering moon can do this even in her state of lethargy, probably means it doesnt require much effort to do

It probably does make more sense that they'd just be transmitting internal language directly to the brain of whoever has the mark, considering they actually don't speak when you have the mark, yet you hear (can read) their dialogue, but they make no sound as they speak.
Who's Mark?
