Saint and Echoes

I really am trying to do everything blind and with as little spoilers as possible in this game but I am currently at a point where I can choose between brute forcing to find that last echoe or just asking for a direction. I have been trying to think logically where there could be one and I have already spent hours looking for paths I didnt discover yet and trying to get to echoes I thought should be there but werent.
I am currently at the gate to subterranean and have visited the echoe in the fissure, the last one I knew the location of, and I am one away from achieving max karma. On the meter that indicates progress towards a passage, I have every single dot filled in except the very first. Now, I am completely fine with searching for the last one if I knew roughly were it could be however if I now go down to Subterranean or even towards Journeys End (which I am presuming I can access still) and I just cant find it cause the last echoe is somehwere completely across the map I would be spending hours to search and to then get back out of it.
So my questions are: Do the dots on the passage meter indicate roughly at which point you would meet these echoes on your playthrough? (This would mean that I would have to go to Sky Islands again I suppose?)
Are there exactly as many echoes in Saint campaign as you would need for max Karma?
Am I stupid and completely walked past one?

Now before you tell me where exactly one is or send me a link to the wiki page, I wanna say I still want to find it myself, if you can just answer these questions or even one of them Id already be fine. Thank you in advance.

i don't know much about saint's campaign since i haven't played it myself, but from what i can gather, saint needs 7 echoes to reach max karma, and their world has 8 echoes. three of those echoes aren't present for other slugcats.
i haven't been able to find an answer to your question about the dots, though.

Right now there’s not wiki info for which dot in pilgrim is which echo. There is for wanderer, and it even accounts for differences between slugcats, but a comparable graphic doesn’t exist for pilgrim yet.
This is a guess based on some circumstantial evidence, but I would double check the chimney canopy echo. I’m mainly basing than off of some soundtrack information, as the base game echo tracks are numbered, and I think the order is roughly the same as the dot order for pilgrim.

If that doesn’t help, here’s a spoiler tagged list of all* the regions where saint can find an echo:

Sky islands
Chimney canopy
Farm arrays
Subterranean
”Drainage system”/Undergrowth
Shoreline
”The exterior” /Silent construct

* As mentioned already, there is a bonus echo. It is optional and more of a secret than the others, so I’ve left it out intentionally.

If you're already in Subterranean, instead of going deeper head east through it to reach the next nearest Echo - as you're on Karma 9, I'm guessing that's the only one of the Echoes you've not found, excluding the incredibly hard-to-reach "bonus" one that can also be accessed through Shoreline.

No, there is only one echo per region. I believe they were trying to direct you towards one of the saint exclusive echoes that you may not have seen.
It’s also worth mentioning, if you hadn’t noticed already, when playing as saint the echo flash occurs at the start of a cycle if you’re in a region with an unvisited echo. I believe it also occurs right after passing through gates as well. You can use that to help narrow down which echo you’re missing, because if you don’t get the flash in a region that normally has an echo, that means you’ve already found it.

Oh well, Ive been lost in Subterranean for the past 1 and a half hours lol. Good to know with that flash cause I didnt really know what it meant so far, obviously something with the echoes but past that I had no idea. Well anyways, Im currently trying to find a way outta here, its been a while since Ive last been down here and everything looks pretty different.
On the bright side, I finally found that one room with the albino Leviathan so thats cool...

Saint actually has three unique Echoes only they can visit:

Undergrowth, left side
Frigid Coast ( Looks to the Moon )

This is the 3rd unique echo, and In case anyone's curious:
Submerged Superstructure ( Auxiliary Transmission Array )

Also the Echo that was on top of the Exterior / Wall
has been relocated to Silent Construct, right side
