is there any way to get my reputation back with scavengers?

basically, when i was just starting the game in outskirts and industrial complex, i killed a lot of scavengers impulsively thinking they were enemies. now they all are hostile or scared, and as of a few minutes ago, there appear to be groups of scavengers trying to hunt me down. i really want to be able to trade with them, is there anything i can do to repair my reputation when they wont even come close enough to trade?

Throw pearls at them, I guess. They'll always take them regardless of reputation.

gift them anything, Pearls are their favorite thing.
If you wanna give gifts, the scavengers at the tolls will always be neutral by default, that makes exchanging easier without being killed

The lower your reputation is, the more anything you do to increase your reputation with them is shrunk in effect. If they really hate you, save any pearls you find and wait for 5-10 cycles before handing them out. Every cycle any negative reputation you have will move towards neutral, which is pretty much the only way to get out of a bad reputation since the effect of trading is reduced. The passive removal of negative reputation isn't affected by this reduction of rep increases, so don't worry about any real point of no return.

i think i have gained back their trust. the merchant has traded with me and i was able to get to the toll and they were freindly i guess. thanks guys
