How do you ride rain deer?

I can get them to kneel down, but I can never feed them with my spore puffs or grab onto their antlers (even if i'm not carrying anything). I tried throwing it at them but that didn't work. When I drop the spore puff and try to grab onto their antlers, slugcat doesn't jump high enough so I just end up sliding off. Idk what to do:/

put spore puff on the ground (hold down + grab) and wait for him to eat this. You can throw secound one to a wall to make deers come.

Good input from WoxedPL. I can add, that I sometimes used a spear or two (Hunter) to get higher, and what I could recommend is to learn to throw spears downwards (into the ground) — if you haven't already I usually kept 1 smoke bomb in my stomach, regurgitating that one after throwing one, so to lure a Deer Long Leg ...

There's 1 subarea where you CAN go after a [certain pearl] btw, and that's where it can become a bit trickier ... (no sp🔴iling)
