caramel lizard head glitch, electric boogaloo
so this problem is ongoing, validating files does not work. it is only caramel lizards that are affected (head doesn't load, makes the game crash). From my explog:

FutileException: Couldn't find element named 'LizardHead3.4'. Did you mean 'LizardHead3.0'?
Use Futile.atlasManager.LogAllElementNames() to see a list of all loaded element names.

Have you tried doing a full reinstall by removing Rain World from the Steam folder then verifying the game?

The Rain World folder is typically located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rain World. Just delete, rename, or move that folder then use Steam to verify the files through Steam.

Yes, I did that too. Someone else on reddit told me they're getting the same problem.
