Rain deer are dumb

The last 8-10 rains deer's i'm trying to ride on kept turning to the east side instead of the west side, even sometimes when I throw the egg thing, they won't even bother. Like what the heck do I do you can't even turn left or right T-T

Yeah... Unfortunately this remains pretty broken to this day. You just have to hope they behave or you can use a mod that disables worm grass. It is super annoying and can suck up a lot of time. None of the options or mods that are supposed to improve their behavior do anything for me, some made it worse. Ymmv.

Yeeeeeah sometimes they'll just sit there until the rain comes even if you move around on their antlers, its pretty awful.
thats why usually if i can i just avoid going to those areas and will actively walk 2-3 miles on a detour JUST so i dont have to deal with the raindeer.

If i could i would make venison stew out of them >:[

Yeah stuff like this happens to me all the time. Rain Deer are incredibly buggy for me.

Honestly, just download some kind of mod to turn off the grass, turn it off for that bit of Farm Arrays and then turn them back on. No shame in not having to deal with a buggy feature when the devs can't be bothered to fix it.

if you have the remix tweaked deer behaviour setting on, wiggling around in their antlers (until they make a noise) will make them change direction pretty consistently. still doesn't solve the issue of getting them to actually show up when you need them lol

I usually use a spear or rock to attack them with if they get stuck sitting in one place. That gets them to move pretty consistently, but they still sometimes go the wrong direction and refuse to go the way I need to go...

I finally got a Rain Deer to carry me west yesterday. But it was the wrong screen and it refused to go further lol I will never get the Hunter out of the Farm or Sky Islands. I'm learning to accept this as a fact of life.

Yes, this- I just use the Controllable Deer mod. Makes it feel like you haven't fundamentally changed the world while at the same time making it playable
