Rain world Trivia + Fun Facts which most of are useless in normal gameplay.
Ive got quite a bit of hours in rain world, and i wanted to share some interesting, yet useless trivia that you will almost never use in everyday rain world. Let me know if I got any of this wrong! :rwslugcat:
BEWARE SPOILERS OF ALL KINDS PRESENT, SPECIFICALLY:

Survivor/monk late game
Hunter
Artificer
Gourmand
Saint
Rivulet

- Saint's tongue is longer than a grapple worm's

- Lizard tongues (except strawberry) can dislodge spears embedded in walls, in creatures, or even in themselves!

- Slugpups can spawn in broken shelters

- Leviathans die immediately when they enter a shelter

- Elites in monk, rivulet and saint campaign cant spawn with singularity bombs

- The scavenger reputation is artificially lowered when in subterranean

- Saint's ascension unlock is based on max karma, not current karma. You can also obtain this ability when playing as saint in other campaigns using jolly coop

- When remix is on, monk can't get instakilled from lizard bites (aside from red lizards), they can still get brought into a lizard den and die that way however

- Green lizards ignore players with a vulture mask instead of being afraid like most lizards. This is because green lizards are too heavy to be eaten by regular vultures

- Red and black lizards are immune to vulture and king vulture masks

- The slugpup size in jolly coop is actually the same as a regular sized slugcat, it just looks shorter

- Dead Slugcat/pup bodies get extremely cold and just a few can make a creature lose all its heat in a few seconds!

- Scavengers freak out and start shivering so hard that they can fling across the room if they lose heat extremely fast in a matter of seconds, before they promptly die of hyperthermia

- Despite looking very heavy, Caramel lizards actually only weigh 4.0 in the code, for comparison, Green lizards weight 7.5. Thats almost half as light! Caramels also weigh the same as Eel lizards despite the fact that Caramels hunt and eat Eel lizards.

- If you manage to reach and enter the heart in submerged superstructure as saint, attempting to even go near the activated rarefaction cell will cause you to die and get vaporized instantly

- If you have the dlc off in monk campaign, most colored pearls are replaced with grey/dark greyish blank pearls. My best guess as to why this is the case, is to act as a sort of punishment for playing easy mode.

- Hunter can hold 3 spears at once via using a whiplash,
have 1 spear in hand without a backspear, then whiplash onto a spear on the ground. lastly pick up another spear normally

- Most people know about the X eyes or the death sound effect playing twice when trying to tell if they died from a lizard bite. However you can also go off based of how fast the game over screen comes up.
If it comes up instantly after getting grabbed, youve died, if it comes up about a second after getting grabbed, your still alive.

- Its technically possible to beat hunter using at most only 1 cycle.

- The sickness in hunter campaign during and after cycle 0 is cured by eating enough food, however the amount of food required increases each cycle. not to mention all food sources also give less food.
(On cycle 0, all food gives a half of what they normally give, on cycle -16 and onwards, all food gives 1/10th)

- In hunter campaign, exiting at any point during and after cycle 0, even in the hibernation screen or before the 30 second cooldown, will cause your run to end regardless if you actually died

- Despite being different creatures in the code, Chieftain and elite scavs use the same id variations with each other.

- Slugpups can be controlled by activating the beeglitch, this allows them to slide, whiplash, roll and do all other sorts of movements despite it being impossible normally even with the correct inputs.

- Slugpups food likeness acts as a Eat or Ignore behaviour. This means they will ignore foods they hate and move towards food they like. Pups still eat anything you throw at them though.

- If a slugpup spawns in a cycle, you can reroll their traits by exiting and reentering the campaign/expedition. This means you could reroll for a purple one, or another one with good stats.

- Scavengers and elite scavengers will generally have the same eye height, eye angle, body, hip, head size when comparing same IDs
(for example, a 7021 id scav and 7021 id elite scav will have different antlers, colors and frills, but everything else will be identical.)

- Moon's and Pebbles neurons are different objects in the code.
- Pebble neurons can have a wide variety of colors, they change into moon neurons when given to moon. They have no collision.
- Moon's neurons are always white and are impossible for slugpups to pick up, even if you
throw one at a pup its ai will try its hardest to but physically cant.

- Vultures and monster kelps can pick up any object assigned with "physicalobject" in its properties with a few exceptions. This allows them to be able to pick up blue fruits, noodlefly eggs or even singularity bombs!
- Scavengers can do this too, however they wont pick up anything that has no value.
- Since iterators, Hunter's green neuron and moon neurons are physical objects are classified as physicalobjects, they are also able to be grabbed
- While vultures have a safeguard that makes them drop an item after a few seconds, monster kelps will eat anything.
- Popcorn plants are an exception to this, since their collisions are disabled for all creatures

- Same id slugpups/scavengers float upwards when colliding into one another.
- If you manage to grab same id pups via whiplashes, it will allow you to glide in the air, or even fly upwards with lighter slugcats! this is known as pup parachute in the movement community.

- It is possible to have 3 slugpups at once in unmodded rain world, however it is extremely rare.
This is because there is a pity system for pups called "shelter realization" Essentially, if its been 25 cycles (5 for hunter) without a slugpup spawn in the same region. It will force a spawn for every cycle and region you visit until a pup spawns naturally, then the pity is reset.
This ignores whether a slugpup spawned in another region, whats the player's current slugpup count, and the region's spawn chance.
This also means you could find a slugpup in five pebbles via shelter realization.
For this ungodly 3 pups, youd need to already have a single slugpup, prevent a slugpup from spawning for 25 cycles and have a slugpup to spawn in the next region you visit via a karma gate in the same cycle.

Wow you actually made it all the way (or you scrolled to the bottom) yoy get a gold starr!!!!!! :steamhappy:
In all seriousness though, i hope this was informational and interesting for you and that you learned a slight bit more than before! :rwslugcat:

Spoilers obviously, but here are a bunch of cool facts that can be found on the wiki.

Base Game region fun facts:

- Outskirts (SU) used to be called Suburban.

- Industrial Complex (HI) was called Heavy Industry.

- Farm Arrays (LF) had the name Linear Farms.

- Shaded Citadel's (SH) name was Shadow Urban.

- The Exterior's acronym, (UW) stands for Underhang and Wall.

- The Five Pebbles's region (SS) was simply named Superstructure before his related story elements were conceived.

MSC region fun facts:

- Waterfront Facility (LM) and Undergrowth (UG) exist as separate regions because they were created before the conditional links system existed, the reason Past GW is not a separate region is because it was created after that point.

- Before Pipeyard was created, the acronym VS was used for Voided Subterranean, a version of the regular Subterranean with The Depths removed from it.

- Waterfront Facility's acronym (LM) means Looks to the Moon, because her exterior (and possibility interior) were originally going to be included inside the region.

- Meanwhile Looks to the Moon proper has the acronym (DM), Depths of Moon.

- Moon's collapsed superstructure, Submerged Superstructure (MS)'s name stands for Moon Superstructure

- While the Saint's Silent Construct (CL) stands for Collapse.

- Silent Construct is also the name of a song in the base game that plays in Filtration System, and MSC's Looks to the Moon.

- Metropolis (LC) is Lost City
The Metropolis echo has a unique dialogue for any slugcat other than Artificer.
Reachable with either a region mod that connects to LC, or via expedition mode.

- The Rot (RM) is Rotten Maw, and finally...

- Rubicon is (HR), meaning Hell Region, this conflicts with the 1.5 version of Howling Rift, their 1.9 Release has the acronym HC instead.

- If you touch an activated bug zapper with Saint's tongue, they will die.

yes, however youd expect caramel lizards to be way heavier due to their size, bulkiness when moving around and that they struggle to fit into pipes for a bit. although their actual weight is probably so they can do their insane leaps.
