Am I missing something or just impatient?
So I've been playing the game for a couple days now and I'm at "An Unfortunate Development" part of the game, and I feel like I'm missing some kind of bits of lore or... Something? I've not encountered any dialogue in the game and very little direction about what I'm supposed to be doing or why. I had to look up some guides on what the game wanted me to do after finding LttM because the little yellow guy was really confusing me about where it wanted me to go.

Am I missing things or am I just not used to the way the game is and how it works? Is there supposed to be this little direction and info?
Thanks so much!

Keep an eye out for colored pearls too, they are important, tho not required to complete the story.

It looks to be like a 2d immersive sim to me, less of a focus on getting to the end. And more of a focus on a real life animal survival sim. Yea there is a main game I saw it played on ytube a while back. But I don’t know if it’s suppose to be the main goal and more like a development. Unlike Metroid which kinda pushes you to move forward. I’m still a newb but it’s got that tension where it feels difficult to venture farther out without dying.

OK, it turns out I really WAS just being impatient. I got to the top of Five Pebbles. ^^;

Don't worry, there's no rush. This game has a lot to explore, and can be frustrating by times. My best advice is to set yourself small goals on top of your regular objectives like "explore x amount of a region" or "survive for x cycles". Helps keeping yourself into the game without worrying too much about wether or not you are doing things right.
