DLC worth it?
"Breaking New Ground to Explore - With ten expansive regions across thousands of new maps, environments, and weather to survive and discover."

This statement gave me the impression that its a separate Game with 10 new areas;, yet when I activate DLC, I start in Shaded Citadel? How much of it will be copied from base game, how much new in terms of map/levels? As far as i can see new areas are 'Outer Expanse' &'Submerged Superstructure'? But I also have to play the game again that I remember now, in order to get to the DLC?

The DLC adds a bunch of minor changes to the world, and new regions, the 10 are not at the same time tho, they depend on the campaigns you are playing, its just 10 total new regions.
If you already beat the game you can start from any of the 1 win cats, tho replaying the default campaign can show you the new world changes.
The content of Downpour is worth it if you want to play more of this game.

Note that this mod was made by a different team and had very little influence from the original 2 authors, its a more "narrative" experience, so dont expect the same sort of "presentation"

Some stuff from the DLC needs to be unlocked first (safari, some slugcats and a single creature). It is not a seperate game, it expands on it with new playable slugcats with own abilities, creatures, regions, gamemodes, etc

Thanks for clarifying. This seems also too huge a difficulty spike for me from playing monk.. I think I gonna try refund, even though I really enjoyed the base game.

I'd argue the new characters are actually easier to play thanks to their abilities (especially rivulet and gourmand), but you do you. Just takes some practice.

id say it is, adds bunch of new stuff, and if you dont wanna have to unlock the things, you can use remix to unlock it

So, the DLC Adds in 5 new slug cats, each with their own place in the timeline and modifiers to them. So while Monk and Survivor are nearly identical, with Hunter being the most deviant thing in base game with it's carnivorous nature and incurable condition, the DLC slugcats are all very unique, and all exist at different times in the world.

It goes Spearmaster > Arti (Both in past era) > Hunter > Gourmand (Both in Early Moonfall) > Survivor > Monk (Both in "Present" era) > Rivulet > Saint (Both at different points in the further future, with the massive climate changes induced from 5P's further worsening condition).

All of the DLC slugs other than Gourmand are packed with lore. For the most part, all of the world changes the DLC introduces are changes in 5P and LttM's areas and superstructures. You can actually visit most of LttM's superstructure for instance in all but one of the campaigns, INCLUDING the original slugcats, although you probably wouldn't find the entrance until you have played Rivulet. I just hope you know how to hold your breath.
