edit; More people seemed to have thoughts on this topic than I expected, so I just wanted to say that I personally use shipping characters and getting lost in their worlds as a coping mechanism, also, if it isn't to your tastes that's fine! But let other people be happy and don't be like "They're animals oooo baddd >>>>>:((," yes I know that, I just headcanon them as more anthro, wearing stylish outfits and such. Thanks!

I tend to like all ships within a fandom (excluding like gross ones you know) so I'm pretty unopininated! My tops are any SRS ship and (this technichally isn't a ship but who cares) aro moon!

A good portion of the Rain World fandom/community likes this kind of thing. It gives us a little bit of light to the bleakness that is the Rain World lore, I suppose.

This game is so sad and depressing that we need something to bring happiness to the characters (even if it's not canon).

Agreed, there are many stories, both with the scugs and the iterators, past and present in the timeline. For one-- the broadcasts between Suns and NSH in Spearmaster's campaign. Suns feeling the regret over giving Five Pebbles the instructions to change his genome and not thinking of his mental state along with NSH's worry for Looks to the Moon's unresponsiveness, going far enough to try and contact her multiple times despite this and sending a very stern message to 5P are clear enough in these. Along with that, reading the pearls alone tells a story,

This thread evolved into a discussion about game lore even though it was originaly about bashing two puppets together and calling it love, I guess there are still some normal people around here.

Btw rain world lore is quite Interesting even though I'm not the biggest fan with its religious take.
