What is the scariest creature or plant?
For me it would 100% be Mother spiders as when I gone into a room in chimney canopy i decided to kill a greenish spider but when I did kill it, it split up into a bunch of spiders making me turn off my computer. Most likely the worst thing I've ever saw, next to a angry noot

Red centipede. Too many legs and has attachement issues.

Spiders, especially in pitch-black with no light. You just randomly get engulfed. Taken. Gone.

king vultures.

it's gotten to the point where if i see even a couple of pixels of red, i'm bolting

For me it's leviathans and MLL because they have so much health that you cant really defend yourself. You can kill a red centipede or a king vulture with the right equipment, but these two are unkillable without singularity bombs.

Fair assesement, but I'll counter with the fact that they are very region specific in very specific rooms. Leviathans are only active at certain moment of the day, and mother long legs are really just bigger ddl, so once you are used to navigating one, the other is ok too.

While red centipedes can spawn in a lot of places, are kinda random and can be accidentally lineaged, and despite being technically killable, if you don't have spore puffs on the ready or playing gourmand or rivulet it's a fast and terrifying death machine, too which you can do very little about.

I can get past shaded citadel because I just go the top route yet I can't get past chimney canopy because the spiders are everywhere.
Anything with red honestly-

Red centipedes are hands down the most dangerous and stressful as an experienced player...

but nothing tops the sense of dread and atmosphere that the first DLL encounters instill. MLL are technically more terrifying, but they're just more of the same and lose a lot of the impact.
Watching a writhing mass of unthinking tumorous tissue creep down from above, then watching it probe into the tunnels you hide in with its long tendrils is terrifying even once you've learned how to deal with DLLs.

Stowaway

They only appear in a handful of rooms in the entire game and are almost invisible.

angry mom noodle flies actually make me hyperventilate every time i run away from them.
they arent scary unless they have their creepy needle.

since my first reply, i've been playing some enemy randomizer. i'd like to change my answer.

yeah... if king vultures is what we're calling "scary," red centipedes take that to 11. You can hide from king vulture, and you can typically sense its approach. You can kill it with enough spears, and steal its mask for its precious value.

Red centipedes, though... you can't stop them, you can't outrun them, and unless you've got a sporepuff on hand you surely can't kill them before they f i n d y o u.

yeah, i think i didn't consider them as scary because usually you can avoid rooms with red centipede spawns, while rooms vultures can access are often unavoidable if you want to get through the region they're in.

with randomizer, though, red centipedes can be anywhere, at any time, and don't necessarily stay where they spawned. it really made me appreciate how the base game doesn't try to drown me in giant armoured centipedes.

yeah, red centipedes are also up on my list mainly based on their unpredictable movements
