Has Anyone Ever Seen a Stowaway? (DOWNPOUR)

Stowaways look super neat on the wiki, and really interesting! But in my 180 hours of playing the games, and having had finished every slugcat, not once have I ever seen a stowaway in person. Has anyone ever seen them? If you have, please tell me where because I'm starting to think that was just some sort of fake creature made up in the wiki and Curios Archive video.

Yes, i saw one on the subterranean looking part of pipeyard, from what i understand while they're always there they only have a chance to activate each cycle (which must be very small things considered). I think their rarity is yet another example of dp devs being dumb but i'm not too bothered cuz they’re just a half life barnacle rip-off and Dropwigs already do exactly the same niche.

Have not seen one yet, but I've seen youtube comments and others talking about them lmao

You'll find them in the subtarean and some of the harder underground areas, but not many spawns and they aren't always active. And tbf, it's better that way because unless you are playing as artificer or spearmaster they can block your path entirely if you don't have enough spears around.

So very rare, reason being that they can lock entire paths and are in the less popular areas of the game.

There is one i saw while playing Saint. When entering the warm jungle area (I forgot the official name) in one room it ate me. Like a jumpscare lol. And also when entered the outer expance for the first time i acidentally thow a bomb and saw stowaway's tentacles

i've seen stowaways in the earlier parts of Outer Expanse, but you're better off just using the Apex Spawns mod to turn blue fruits into them. You may also wanna try the Stowawake mod, to guarantee them being active.

I recommend using the Stowawake mod if you want to experience them more often. It causes them to always be active in the areas they are placed, leading to more encounters with them. They can be quite a jumpscare for your first encounter, and are a lot more dangerous with Dropwigs given how they can stunlock you before you have a chance to pick a weapon back up to fight back at times.
