Expedition mode - difficulty meter.
When I set up a new expedition I can choose a difficulty (there is a slide with two symbols - Green for easy and Red for hard). What is it for? I tried to put it on Hard but it does not seem to affect the point value of an expedition or anything else. What is the point than?

harder challenges are often the longest, but most rewarding challenges, requiring you to do something a lot of times, like killing 15 king vultures or delivering 4 neurons to moon :karmafriend:

You mean changing this slide towards "hard" setting will give me harder challenges like "kill stronger creature" or whatever?
yes, but harder challenges differ with each character, with characters like hunter and spearmaster having the "kill 15 king vultures" challenge, while rivulet is more likely to have bigger neuron deliveries as his harder challenges. I've also read somewhere that spearmaster and rivulet can get "kill 1 mother long legs" challenge as a hard challenge, but i've never seen this myself, so i can't confirm it

To be more specific, I'm pretty sure the slider affects the scale of challenges rather than the specific objectives (which as previously mentioned are generally fairly character specific). For example, with neuron delivery, if you have the slider all the way to hard, you will consistently get "deliver 4" challenges, while if you take it all the way down you will only get "deliver 1". Item hoarding is another one I tested, all the way down only requires 2 items, all the way up is usually 10. Hunting challenges will have their quantity affected in the same ways, but the specific minimum and maximum values are different for different creatures. It's also worth noting that point rewards are generally proportional to the quantity from what I've seen, kill 5 of X is usually worth half as many points as kill 10 of X. I've seen no indication that the slider has any effect on challenges with fixed objectives, like vista visiting, echos, pearl delivery, passages, etc., as changing the slider doesn't seem to remove any from the pool and doesn't seem to bias towards higher or lower value challenges on rerolls (like earning wanderer vs earning chieftain).
