How do I continue as Arti?
Hey guys, I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to ask for help, I don't use Steam much other than for just buying games, but I'm a little stuck as the Artificer Slugcat.

I'm playing blind, so please no spoilers, just give me directions on what to do/where to go.

My goal was to go to 5-pebbles (Which is usually the way to go in this game) and I wanted to go through the wall. I'm in garbage wastes at the gate to industrial complex, but I can't get through because scavengers just... don't spawn. I have examined the whole area around it, I have waited till the rain comes (Sometimes they just take a while to spawn I noticed), but there is not a single sign of any scavs. Am I going the wrong way or something or am I just incredibly unlucky?

Why not just go through shaded? No ones more suited to leg climbing then arti.

I will say, on one of my artificer saves I ran into essentially the same problem in the same spot. From what I could tell, the issue was that they were mostly dead. I had killed nearly all of the ones in the region getting to that gate initially, and was getting unlucky with them respawning. Unless you’re encountering a bug (which is not impossible), you may be in a similar boat, in which case you may just have to hang out a few cycles to get a decent amount to respawn. I’d recommend hanging out at a shelter close-ish to a toll since that can be an easy indicator of when some of them are back.

Thank you, I will try that. I honestly don't remember ever killing any scavs in that area, which is a little worrying, but skipping a few cycles and seeing if anything changes honestly sounds good. Thx for the suggestion.

I honestly just prefer going through the wall. It was a very spontaneous decision and I really hope that I dont have to double back on it because that means I have to go all the way back.
I guess I'm just that traumatised by Five Pebs and UF lmao (I know that you can skip it, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I was too proud to do it in my first playthrough and now Im broken)

Update: I skipped looots of cycles, close to 10. Still no scavs anywhere-
Do you happen to remember in which room you found the scavs? I feel like they usually spawn in certain rooms, so if I find that room and camp it all cycle I might finally find those damn monkes.

I don’t remember exactly, but I was hanging out at the shelter to the left of the shaded citadel toll until I found some. Part of the problem here is that there’s essentially two groups of scavengers, there’s the toll keepers that pretty much stay in place (but are usually numerous) and then the patrols, and as artificer the patrols are always trying to find you. Counterintuitively that can sometimes make it harder to find patrols, since if you keep moving around without doubling back at some point, they’re likely trailing behind you to an extent. It might be worth hanging out it one place for a while to see if any eventually come to you, though you may need to pick a spot you’re certain they can reach.

Scavs spawn in *all* regions that have any number of karma needed to pass gates.
If they aren't spawning due to a bug, I'd just spawn a ♥♥♥♥ ton and then sleep, to mimic the fact they're in tribes are to give yourself a normal amount the passing day.

Well you'll have to go through wall anyway and you can just get to the wall through the leg. Though arti is the only character pebbles in fun in, getting in however has to be done backwards which is a bit of a wasted oppertunity for the only character with full control in zero grav.

You can get in through the Precipice. It hasn't collapsed yet and the route takes you into the Leg.
