Was Rain World easier when it released?
I dunno if its just me, but when the game was in release 1.0 and 1.0.1, was it significantly easier?

I recently played release 1.0.1 all the way through via the betas, and I swear there was less threats than today. I died a lot less and made progress a lot faster.

My theory is that when release 1.5 released, which added the Monk and Hunter, Survivor's difficulty was increased overall to give Monk the easier difficulty.

My second theory is the "new dynamic difficulty" in the Remix settings. Rain World 1.0.1 used the old difficulty, which was measured in your survived cycles and deaths. The more you died, the less difficult it would get, and the more you survived, the more difficult it would get. When the "new dynamic difficulty" came around, it took the old method of difficulty and added regions you've explored into the factor, which could greatly ramp up the difficulty depending on how many places you've been to.

However, I've yet to come up with any concrete evidence that this is the case. Maybe 1.0.1 just had less creatures overall or I've just gotten better at the game? I might try to play Survivor with the "new dynamic difficulty" turned off to see if its similar to 1.0.1, but for now, I wanted to ask if the original release of Rain World was easier somehow? Or is it just the "new dynamic difficulty" setting?

I really think Rain World world should decrease amount of enemies when you constantly die at same spot over and over and over AND OVER AGAIN.

I'm playing Hunter and getting stuck in wall, where the game keep spawning more and more AND MORE lizards. The game gave me insane hatred towards lizards even when I played as a Survivor. I hate every single lizard of this game and want to turn their insides to outside.

There is weird thing at sphere structure at middle section of The Wall, where game replaced every single yellow lizard with Blue explosive jumping lizard, but has same horde/hive mind mentality of yellow lizard. WTF?!

Why game not changing or removing lizard spawns? If anything they only add more creature to the mix.
"You're struggling and can't progress? Well F you, Muahahahaha!"- game.

The Rain World is very beatiful and interesting place, but it's sadistic and doesn't respect player as human being.

I really agree to that. I have trouble justifying the game's UNUSUAL difficulty. The game is pretty, the world is awesome, and I get to play as a Slugcat so Im DAMN well going to live through it, but at many points I wish the game was a lot easier. (Without only getting the experience of Monk for the "easy" mode, or just putting the game back in Release 1.0.1 for an easy Survivor mode)

This game needs a difficulty slider, Im just gonna say it. Yes, almost every Dark Souls fan is going to go hay-wire over that BUT GUESS WHAT!? THIS ISNT FRICKEN DARK SOULS LET ME ENJOY THE GAME

Ive played all the Dark Souls games - and Bloodborne, and the only reason I kept playing them is because I loved the world, the lore, and wielding a huge fricken sword on my shoulder. But the games difficulty is what made everyone love it - More people love Rain World for Slugcats and the world itself, not really for the difficulty. I really wish they figure out a way to combat this in the future, or at least a mod to release on the Workshop to fix this issue.
