Gourmand's red centipede...

I am going nuts trying to eat a red centipede. I was told spore puffs are strong against arthropods and centipedes, but even hitting it while fully coiled doesn't seem to work. Does it only work on segments that are already exposed by kinetic force? I also stockpiled bombs, but he's too aggressive to attack from afar, and often camps the entrance to a room so I can't get a good shot off.

I'm trying to do this on the red centipede in pipeyard btw, in that outdoor area right of the room with the pit.

In my experiencie i killed the Red centipede thanks to the "Spore puff" but previusly i was weakness the enemy with some spears, with 2 Spore puff i killed it, but take me a lot of cycles.

Relevant to topic, but the red centipede I had easiest time killing was the one in the horrible pit in middle of Subterranean. There's a lot of crawl space towards the center-left & left of that room to spam spears.
