Gourmand food quest

i´m doing the food quest right now but i cant find any egg bugs to proceed , has anyone an idea where i can find those critters ?
already checked farm array but was unable to find any or are they 100% random spawns ?

Sky islands is mostly a live with egg bugs, in the place where si the Echo. U just need to sleep in a shelter and check around the zone.

Outskirts is also a great place to look

Sky islands is definitely the best place for eggbugs. They spawn there more often than any other region (I think. One of the Downpour regions might have more). I don't think there's actually any in farm arrays, I've personally never seen them there, but I might be wrong.

For gourmand, there's a single eggbug in the sporepuff room near the OS/FA gate

found one in outskirts (got eaten by worm grass) , had to go to sky island and found actually 3 food quest items (and caused a small extinction event for lizards)

only 2 creatures to go (yellow lizard and red centipede)
both are kinda elusive though

I'd recommend pipeyard for the centipede. There's a nice spot in the middle of the region for crafting bombs and puffs

Alternatively, go to Shoreline and look for the aquapede in one of the half-flooded towers. Eating one of those counts in place of the red centipede meal.

I think it's chance based for which one you'll need in a quest

No, it should be either one. I imagine it defaults to one but if you eat the alternate first it just uses that instead. I ran into that with eel lizards when I did it, I ate one way before it ever showed salamander in the list and kept getting confused as to why the early wiki page said you had to eat a salamander when I never did.
