Rivulet pearl question (Spoilers)

I've been to lttm, shown her the pearl rivulet started with. She told me it contains a highly compressed schematic of an iterator superstructure, maintenance order for linear power rails. Is that it? Or is this pearl important later on? I am right now in 5P looking for the mass rarefaction cell and I am thinking if I should ditch this pearl so I'l have the space for the cell.

I am looking for a spoilerfree yes/no asnwer to a question: Has this pearl any other use than moon reading its contents?

The pearl isn't important later on its just more lore. Now that you mention it though I think its just foreshadowing for the fact that you have to traverse the linear power rails of both iterators to get and install their power cores. Which is neat.

This pearl could also explain why Lttm's power cells "dislodged" when she hit the ground; as the maintenance they were supposed to do on her linear power rail system never got done before the ancient's disappearance.

(p.s also a tip if you have "key items on passage" turned on in the remix menu, it teleports any pearls in the shelter you use a passage in with you so you can use a passage to take the power core directly from 5p to shoreline instead of lugging it across the entire map. It's also useful for transporting a bunch of lore pearls to moon at once.)

Also, whats up with 3 of the 4 slugcats basically being "carry object" quests the entire game? after spearmaster and rivulet I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ got sick of carrying things across the map by the time I got to artificer and just turned karma off for her.
I understand the lore implications and honestly rivulets isn't even bad but it feels like just an unnecessary Nerf to otherwise great campaigns. I would have loved spear master if he had a gullet. And artificer's carrying corpses until you find enough echos isnt bad and is actually a cool gimmick. but a chore if you want to actually explore the map or pearl hunt with her. and after spear master, I was done with carry quests lmao

The pearl's specificity raises a lot of questions. As far as we've been told, Rivulet is from outside of 5P's area but not sent by a specific Iterator. It's suggested that he's merely met one before, but the pearl would suggest perhaps that they were given the information with the hope of putting it to use on behalf of 5P.

Running theory I've seen is that 5P actually sent the pearl to someone, and it wound up in Riv's possession with the hope that they'd stumble into 5P and help out. Not especially keen on this one, though, as it's not really given as a request or clear what the intended course of action is. It's curious that 5P does not read the pearl, which would be specifically tailored to his situation. Perhaps this is deliberate, to keep us guessing as to where it came from.

Huh yeah It seems like foreshadowing. But it would have been cool if the pearl actually fixed something or was used somewhere. (But I can't really complain, the rivulet campaign was absolutely fantastic)

I didn't turn that setting on :D... I kinda got used to carrying objects across the map when I was collecting the pearls and bringing them all to lttm (few years ago, before the DLC). Also as rivulet, carrying of the cell was pretty fun in my opinion, the cycles were suddenly very long, so almost no rush but you are veery fast with the gravity cell thing .
But I am about to do rivulet so I'll see if my sanity is going to make it.

I was just thinking about this and how it might have been a last ditch effort from an Iterator to help 5P, ever since Moon said it didn’t apply to her. Surprised to hear we have confirmation that basically makes it purely coincidental luck that it has any relevance… -_-
