What are the blue and orange boxes in the top right corner during sleep?

I've played the game quite a lot back in the day but I don't remember those boxes showing up in the corner. What are they for?

They show which collectibles you've discovered in each region.

What are the red diamonds for in that corner? The orange ones seem to track zones, the blue ones track object, what about the red ones?

They're in the same order as the pips are, from inner to outer, of the wanderer passage. Going to the "passages" page on the rain world wiki can show you what that order is/what each pip corresponds to.
