In all seriousness, slugpups will tug you in a direction they want to go. Like a kid pulling you to the toys section of walmart.
If you hold down the grab button, you can set them on your back. Keeping slugpups on your back has no effect on your movement or weight as far as I know, but it can make them very dependent if you do it all the time.
Otherwise, if they're being too clingy, you can use the throw button to toss them away. It's safe to throw them, so long as it's not into danger. It's a good way to help them reach higher up food or items as well.
