I don't remember Shoreline going that way (east and down, unrewater with glow weed in the dark) when I played the original game. I thought, maybe I just forgot. Went to check on wiki, but all the maps just end before this point.

Does this leads to new DLC locations? I assume I need Rivulet to get through there, because even with jetfish, Survivor would drown.

Yeah, it's one of the new areas introduced with the DLC. You can actually explore it with a squid.

New area, yes. I recommend finding two bubble weed. Swallow one, swim down as best you can with the other in hand, and then upchuck the second whilst still underwater. This region is EXTREMELY swim-tough, but canonically Monk was able to make this journey because there is the time-faded cloak Moon wore before her collapse hidden in there, Monk is the closest in the timeline to Rivulet, and by the time of Rivulet's campaign, Moon is wearing her faded cloak again.

Without going into too many spoilers, yes, that leads to one of the new locations in the DLC, and it is a location that Rivulet visits during their campaign.
