Mod installation help

Hi. So I've got Bepinex, I've extracted it into the Rain World folder, and I've been putting mod files (and extracting them if they're zipped) into the Rain World folder as well and I simply cannot get them to work. I'm trying to use Cycle Config and Configmachine, but it just isn't working. I also tried using BOI but I couldn't get it to use Rain World as its pathway folder so I had to go back to just installing mods manually.

Can someone help me out? The game works fine when I 'install' the mods but it's just vanilla. I really want to play Hunter but I'm too bad at the game so I just lose all my lives and die. I like the challenge and story of Hunter but I can't do it without Cycle Config.

the "mods folder" in the rain world folder is used by BOI to move and remove mods from the actual true mods folder.
If for some reason you cant use BOI, the mods should be instead placed direcly in Rain world/BepInEx/Plugins (put the .dll files there)

Thank you!! I think that must be my problem, not putting them in the Bepinex plugins folder. I'll try it now!

tho, some mods like custom region ones need the mod folder so may be worth getting BOI for those

Well, turns out my Bepinex doesn't even have a plugin folder somehow, but my Rain World does. Back to the drawing board for me. And by the way putting the mods in that Rain World plugin folder did not work, sadly...

the rain world plugin folder does not the same as the bepinex plugin folder.

Yes, I figured it would not be the same. Now my problem is figuring out why Bepinex has no plugin folder. I might need to go to Discord like you said.

Wait you can install mods manually without BOI ?

If that can help once BOI installed and launched when it ask for the pathway you need to select the .exe of the game not the entire folder .
In the worst case just wait 15 days for the remix update .
