Why should something unhelpfully take up shelter space like that stay forever,
while the very helpful metal platforms you make always fade after a few cycles?!
Makes zero sense!
Makes canonical sense since everything outside the shelter is subject to rain and a flimsy spear wouldn't last long in the torrents, but the shelters are protected against rain and something inside them would stay until it is removed.
Though from a gameplay perspective, it makes no sense to keep bodies in shelters.
