Starving Creatures?

Can other creatures (eg. Lizards, Scavs, Vultures, ect.) starve to death? If the player doesn't have enough food to hibernate, he can still force hibernate. Is this the same for other creatures, or do they need food in the first place? If they need food, and can't force hibernate, do they simply die from the rain because they are looking for food? Just curious :)

it doesnt matter if a creture ate or not, and they dont usually die from rain since they go to their dens, or a closer one if they cant reach it in time, even if it dies by an unrelated cause to you, it will respawn next cycle 100% instead of a 33% as if you killed it
