Purpose of Overseer Eyes?

If slugcat or a scavenger spears and destroys an overseer, it will leave behind its eye.
It's the 3rd most valuable trade item with scavengers, but is that really its only use?

While I'm sure that's true, she does comment on almost any item you give her.
Surely the overseer eye items exist for more than showing to Moon & scavengers?

This isn't true for Hunter mode, but otherwise, yeah that's useful.
But still, every other tradable item has some use besides just giving it to scavengers.
So I figure there must be something else the overseer eyes can do.

Pearls are only used for Moon and scavengers.

The item was added in 1.5 and yes it literally only exists as a way for moon to give more overseer lore

I'm pretty sure that while somewhat easily inferred it wasn't confirmed that they were iterators cameras till that item was added

I think it'd be cool if the gourmand could craft something with them, maybe they'll have more purpose in the dlc.
