Games similar to Rain World?
I've finally ascended.

Didn't think I would actually get an ending but I was touched. Truely a wonderful experience and it only took me 30h to get there. I was wondering if there's any other similar games like this? The closest one I could think of is Subnautica(minus the base building).

I was the one referring to HoD (1998) in that discussion, but you're welcome!

Never played HoD but I like your short summary so I had to find it. And tbf, I wanna play it now

- So I looked around and seems like it's too much of a hassle to get it working. That's a shame since it looked pretty cool. The charm of old games, oh well :/

That's good to hear! :)

Well, it's fairly easy, and can be done pretty quickly if you know what you're doing. I think the last time was on Windows 7: Virtual PC 2007 (or Oracle VM VirtualBox, but results may vary ...) + Windows 98(SE) emulated within there :winter2019happybulb:

The charm of old games indeed, and feeling nostalgic again right now ^^ Could easily play it again now if I didn't have any other games in the queue ...

Take a look at MO: Astray. Never played it but it sure reminds me of Rain World a lot

If you like bashing your head against the wall in a beautiful world with fun gameplay, consider playing Outer Wilds

If you haven't already, look into the STALKER trilogy, Pathologic 2, Sunless Sea/Skies, Kenshi

another + for Darkwood, Noita and Outer Wilds as previously mentioned

Noita is awesome game. The exploration is vast. Blew my mind when I realized just how big the world is and how far off the path you can go. Filled with so many cool secrets. Passing through areas that you wouldnt even think was possible through combo spells and suddenly you are in areas you didnt even know existed. To the highest of heavens to the lowest of hells.

Darkwood was really good too. Very immersive. A lot of tension too.

Sunless seas was really fun as well liked the sub dlc too. Sunless skies I really didnt care for.

Seas was such an interesting atmospheric journey. Really pulled me in. Ok sorry for so many posts.
