Day/Night cycle
First of all, I really want to applaud Rain World for having such deep lore, unique mechanics and wonderful graphics for a 2D platformer game. I truly admire how the team has created a highly atmospheric environment, especially through the lighting, and shadows. To make this even more beautiful, should we have a day/night cycle, with dawn and evening, controlled by the time set in the computer? I would like to see how the top of The Wall looks like at night.

the rainworld is a flat planet, much like our planet, and such does not have day night cycles

That's not really confirmed though, and don't you mean "unlike" our planet?

I've heard of the Flat Earth Society before, so not sure ...

yes, there are nights in RW, of course. but it ALWAYS rains at night, and you usually sleep in the shelter at this time. you can observe night most closely when it starts raining in memory crypts. otherwise, you have 10 minutes only to wake up, find food and travel further before it rains again

Everybody knows the earth is flat

Right, I was such a fool to think otherwise.

Necropost, I know, but Rainworld's Day/Night cycle is tied to the rain cycles. If you get above the clouds of the Wall as it's starting to rain, you can see it's actually changing to night. This is also the case for the Metropolis(a place that only Artificer has access to). Both the upper areas of the Wall and the entirety of the Metropolis lack the heavy rainfall, but they get extremely dark and more dangerous creatures come out in the Metropolis during night time.

It does have a day night cycle. If you get above or outside the rain zone the when the timer ends the sun goes down. Some places are really pretty at night.

to the above posters: this was a remix feature added earlier this year and did not exist when the OP was made :V

I think besides upper Wall & Metropolis, at least 1/2 to 2/3 of Outer Expanse swaps to 'rain-less' night when the timer runs out, too.
Besides the atmospheric & aesthetic changes,
night-time means more dangerous creatures start appearing.
Not a unique night creature, I just mean more of the worst things you already fight.
